This is Bambi's 97 STS

Here we have a very clean Caddy with nice low mileage in the 50k's along with a full blown Head Gasket issue!

So as you can see, it is far below the 100k average low side of failure. It is always a gamble until it is studded!

The lower right picture is the block seal leaking and at 54k we see that the beginning of seepage starts early in the Northstar, but you do not see it until close to the 100k. Why? Because the dust in the air accumulates and absorbs it up and then releases it to evaporation.

Yea, oil evaporates!

We are tearing it down now, stay tuned for updates!

So, all went well with this motor, it was leaking and sealed up fantastic! The Head Gaskets looked as they usually do and are now new!

The machining showed nice aluminum block mix with large curled shavings. It is our opinion this block is one of the better aluminum mixes GM had.

This engine only had 54k and is a 1997. Very well taken care of with full-blown Head Gaskets.

Today it is past all these issues, and I am sure the owner will be pleased knowing she can drive as far as she wants without worry!

This STS has been 100% completed

There was some photo issues that kept us from posting?

Thank you!
